Helping our forest and timber industry understand & meet their legal and contractual obligations when working in Queensland native forests

HERE TO HELP

The Queensland Native Forestry website has been created as part of the Native Forest Operations Capacity Building Project, delivered by Timber Queensland (TQ) with the support of the Queensland Government's Department of Agriculture and Fisheries [DAF].

By helping sales permittees, operators and contractors to understand what they need to know, our goal is to support industry in complying with native forest legislative and regulatory requirements. This website aims to support the future of the forestry industry, and the forests we work in.

Visitors are encouraged to explore the materials across the site, including sharing the guides and tools with their workers and workmates, and to use the PowerPoint presentations and Toolbox Talks to assist with in-house training.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

Compliance with all local, State and Commonwealth legislation and contractual conditions under Forestry Act 1959 sales permits is fundamental to maintaining the native timber industry’s ‘social licence’ to continue to operate on state-owned land.

BROUGHT TO YOU BY TIMBER QUEENSLAND

As the peak body for Queensland’s forest and timber industry, Timber Queensland acts as an impartial and authoritative non-profit representative. TQ aims to enhance and promote development of the industry, providing a voice on political, technical, environmental, and other matters. TQ also delivers relevant training, awareness, and education events, provides technical services to members and end-users, and promotes learning, research and development with industry partners.
